Frequently Asked Questions

You want to go through the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession):

This sacrament is available on Saturdays from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., First Friday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., and First Saturday from
12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Reconciliation is also available by calling the church office for an appointment. During Lent and Advent, Communal Reconciliation Services are offered.

You want to have your baby baptized:

Baptisms are scheduled on an individual basis. Parents should call the church office to register for a baptism preparation class.

You want to make your First Communion or be Confirmed:

First Holy Communion is received by children in the second grade or older in the spring of the year. The Sacrament of Confirmation is bestowed on youth in the spring for eighth graders or older teens. Children/teens are expected to have attended Catholic school or religious education classes for the year of the sacramental reception and the year previous to reception. Adults receive the sacrament after having gone through the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) process. Call the church office for more information.


You want to get married:

Couples should contact the church office a minimum of six months in advance to begin the marriage preparation process.


You would like the priest to visit someone who is sick:

Please call the church office if there is an emergency or if you or a loved one are about to have surgery, are in the hospital or nursing home or have become home bound. The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick is a healing sacrament for young and old, the chronically or terminally ill, or prior to surgery. (also formerly Last Rites for terminally ill)

You need to arrange for a Funeral Mass for the recently deceased:

Please call the church office.  (501) 623-3323.


You would like to arrange for a Mass intention for the living or deceased:

Come to the church office and request a Mass Intention. The offering is $10.00 for a Mass.


You want to join the parish:

Registration forms for new members are available in the church office or in the back of the church. Please return completed forms in the collection basket or to the church office.


You are changing your name/address/telephone number/email:

Please contact the church office by phone or email at
stmccadmin@hotsprings.net


You have graduated from college and/or are no longer living in your parent's home:

Please contact the church office and register as an individual member.


You would like to become a Catholic:

If you are interested in becoming Catholic, please call the church office. RCIA sessions are held on Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. from September to Easter. (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults)


You would like to get an annulment:

Please call the church office.


You want to register your child for Catholic school:

Please call St. John's Catholic School at (501) 624-3171.


Your child does not go to Catholic school:

Registration for Faith Formation classes is scheduled in August each year. The program meets on Sunday mornings from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. during the school year.


You are not sure about taking your small children to Mass:

Children are always welcome at Mass. We currently have nursery for children 6 months through 3 years old during the 11am Mass. Also there is children's liturgy available for children age 4 years through 1st Communion.


You want to talk to the priest about a confidential matter:

Call the church office to set up an appointment with the priest.


You want to return to the Catholic Church:

If you are interested in returning to the Catholic Church, please call the church office to set up an appointment with the priest.


You want to rent the Carroll Room or the Parish Hall:

Call the church office.


You would like to make a donation to St. Mary of the Springs Catholic Church in memory or honor of someone:

Come by the church office or mail in the following information:

  • Indicate if donation is a memorial or honorarium
  • Name of person for whom the donation is being made
  • To whom the acknowledgement card is to be sent and the mailing address
  • Your name and address

Facilities and Properties Usage:

To schedule events or activities in the Carroll Room or Parish Hall, contact the church office. No events shall be scheduled that conflict with Sunday or Holy Day Liturgies.
